Pre-entrance Program department for foreign citizens

Offers preparation for foreign citizens for enter to the 1st University Medicine course: the Russian language, chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics studying.

The studying is on 2 Preparatory departments of the Faculty of Medicine for foreign students:

• the Pre-entrance Program department for foreign citizens (with entry into the Russian Federation)

• the Pre-entrance Program department for foreign citizens in distance online format (distance)

Admission Schedule 2026

The Pre-Entrance Program for foreign citizens with enter to Russian Federation:

• June 1 - the first day for the registration and documents application
• July 8 - the last day for the documents application (1-st stage)
• July 15 - the rating lists (1-st stage)
• July 16 - the enrolled order (1-st stage) to fill 60% of the vacant positions
• July 17 - the documents application (2-nd stage)
• July 29 - the last day for the documents application (2-nd stage)
• August 06 - the rating lists (2-nd stage)
• August 07 - the enrolled order (2-nd stage) to fill up to 100% of the vacant positions

The Pre-Entrance Program for foreign citizens in Distance format:

• October 1 - The first day for the registration and documents application
• November 30 - The last day for the documents application (the enrollment for the Distance Pre-Entrance Program for foreign citizens after full study payment)
• November 30 - The enrollment (enrolled order)

Admission and enrollment for the Pre-Entrance Program for foreign citizens with enter to Russian Federation with tuition fees is conducted on a competitive basis using the 100-point rating scale. Individual rating is formed by summing up the results of national state exams in relevant disciplines (Chemistry, Biology, Physics), which are stated in your School Leaving Certificate, the average score in the education document in recalculation, according to the modified Bavarian formula, taking into account the differences in the estimated foreign evaluation scales provided by incoming documents, and additional points awarded for individual achievements.

Scores calculation for individual achievements (extra points):

• Having a diploma of secondary professional education in a medical field - 3 points
• Being professionally motivated (including work experience as junior medical staff or paramedical staff, etc.) - up to 10 points
• having volunteer (voluntary) activities in organizations of medical and social orientation field - up to 10 points

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS for the Distance Pre-entrance Program for foreign citizens:

1. Original or notarized copy of national passport with a notarized Russian translation (send the scan-copy in your Applicant Personal Account);
2. Educational document:
   • Original or notarized copy of School Leaving Certificate (High school diploma) with a notarized Russian translation
   • Certificate of secondary professional education in a medical-biological field (with marks in Chemistry, Biology and Physics)
   • For students in their final years of school, the original or a notarized copy of a certificate from the school stating that the applicant is currently studying in the final year, + a document with grades in chemistry, biology, and physics for the previous year with a notarized translation into Russian
3. The application for admission, consent to the processing of personal data, and questionnaire must be printed, signed, scanned, and uploaded to your personal account.

All documents must be submitted online. Online registration is required. Create a personal account, fill out the registration form and attach the required documents.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

1. Original or notarized copy of national passport, valid for at least 18 months from the date of the intended enrollment (September, 1 of the current year) with a notarized Russian translation. In the case of a temporary stay of a foreign citizen in the territory of a third state, a document authorizing a residence permit with a notarized Russian translation (send the scan-copy in your Applicant Personal Account)
2. Original or notarized copy of School Leaving Certificate (High school diploma) or Certificate of secondary professional education in a medical-biological field (with marks in Chemistry, Biology and Physics) with a notarized Russian translation (send the scan-copy in your Applicant Personal Account)
3. Original or copy of Medical certificate, confirming that You do not have any dangerous diseases threatening other people as specified in the Order of Russian Federation Ministry of Health 29.06/2015 N 384н (send the scan-copy in your Applicant Personal Account)
4. Application form for getting the invitation to enter the Russian Federation (for citizens covered by visa entrance regulations). You must specify: the date and place of birth, passport detailes, the visa issue place (country, city, where Russian Embassy/Consulate exists, type of study invitation (electronic or paper invitation) (printed from your Personal account after On-line Pre-Entrance Program Registration and Admission checking, sign, and send the scan-copy of the Application with signature in your Personal account, See Applicant Account Instruction)

10. Four 3x4 cm photographs (bring, when you arrive to the University)
11.  Photo of your face with your identity document, open to the page with the photo - good quality with readable text.
12. Other documents (submitted optionally)

For education documents which were received in a foreign country is necessary:

1. Legalization
2. Translation into Russian (notarized translation)
3. Recognition

Attention! Attention! Only applicants with complete set of documents will be considered!

You need to send scan-copies of documents (national passport, education document with a notarized Russian translation) in your Applicant Personal Account. 

Scan-copies must be of good quality in PDF-format, photos from mobile phones are not allowed. In case of poor quality and unreadability of scanned copies of documents, Admission Board can reject your such scans-documents.

After registration and Admission checking, the special button "Applications generation" appear on Main page of your personal account, and you can print these documents with it. After clicking this button, 3 links will appear on the Main page of your personal account , download, sign Applications and Contract and send scans-copies of these applications with your signatures in your personal account as inform messages (1 file – 1 inform message).

The process of the invitations for visa issuing for enter to Russian Federation:

1. In order to get an invitation for study visa for the Pre-Entrance Program for foreign citizens with enter to Russian Federation, the applicant fills in an application form for an invitation to enter the Russian Federation (in personal account of online registration), specifying the place of visa issue at the Russian Embassy in their country, the type of invitation (electronic or paper). After enrollment at the Pre-entrance Program, the invitation will be issued within 21 working days from the date of  submission of documents to the Office of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. The University does NOT cover the postal express-service expenses to deliver visa toyour home country. To inquire about the status invitation (but not earlier than one month after theenrollment):

2. Having received the invitation, you are to address to the Russian Federation Embassy located in your country to have the study visa issued (90 days)
3. After receiving study visa you must to arrive to University not later 60 days before study visa expiration

4. Shortly after having arrived to Saint-Petersburg, please, come to Foreign Dean’s Office of the Pre-entrance Program department (on the first floor) to apply the documents for the study: Saint-Petersburg, Lev Tolstoy street, 6/8, building 1 (main), on
   the 1-st floor, room # 9

Documents to be applied to the Dean’s Office:

1. passport, study visa, migration card (originals and copies)
2. original and notarized copy of School Leaving Certificate with a notarized Russian translation, authenticated by the Embassy in the country of study or by apostil stamp
3. four 3x4 cm photographs

Reminder: Having arrived on the territory of the Russian Federation, all foreign citizens must be registered in the for Visa and Registration Department (OVIR) in 3 days period. Failure to comply with the requirements leads to 40 000-Rubles fine to be paid and departure to your home country.
